Do You Have The One Idea?

There are times in our lives that we are enveloped by that One Thought that could potentially change the world around us. It is the Eureka moment, when we are struck by The One Idea. There is an inner call which directs us to do something worthy for the world and people around us. However, more often than not, life takes over and we are back to the grind of our daily routines and The One Idea is buried in the mundane chores of life. We are now organizing Soch ’21, an article writing competition, that provides just the platform your idea needs to catapult itself from the confines of the drawing board.

Time to Express The One Idea?

IIT Kanpur in association with From The Experts Mouth (FTEM), the Digital Media Partner for Prabandhan ’21, recently announced Soch ’21. This is an article writing competition to give writers the required space and platform to express themselves and even have the opportunity to get published. Moreover, this is an open event as part of Prabandhan’21 and allows people from all educational and professional backgrounds to submit their articles and convey their thoughts.

The theme of the contest revolves around The One Thought and we have introduced five exciting themes that cover a diverse array of topics, much in line with our approach at FTEM. One of the five themes is The One Idea, which may be relevant to any sphere of business or society.

Anatomy of The One Idea

This enriching platform gives the writers that opportunity to think beyond the obvious and present that one idea which can drastically change the world around us. The idea should resonate with the overall concept of The One Thought of Soch’21 and in a way that can help in leading business and society to a better future.

The theme is fairly open ended. Here are some prompts to help you think about The One Idea that could trigger your thoughts and lead you to your award winning submission to Soch ’21, the article writing competition for Prabandhan at IIT Kanpur. However, we welcome and celebrate diversity of thoughts, and welcome ideas that impact any dimension of business and society. 

What is The One Idea that can change the world?

At present, we are all caught in the vicious cycle of the New Normal and  here are some thinking prompts to facilitate your One Idea. #Pandemic and the New Normal

The sudden onset of COVID-19 and the emergence of fresh waves and variants continue to jolt the whole world. This has impacted each one of us.

Do you have The One Idea that can help us be better prepared for facing the next pandemic? Or, fully recovering from the clutches of the existing one? Is this an opportunity to re-imagine a new world order and re-build it by making amends for past mistakes?

How can the business world recuperate from the impact of the pandemic? Do you have The One Idea that can turn adversity into opportunity?

If these problems appear uncontrollable at an individual level, are there things that one can do to ease the transition to the New Normal? What is The One Idea for citizens of the society and members of the corporate world to embrace the Next Normal?

The world crisis has started affecting many aspects of our lives, and most poignantly it hits our sustainability quotient. We are running out of fuel, both literally and figuratively. We need to think of The One Idea that can help us overcome issues like these.

How do we build a sustainable world order? How can we hold government, business, institutions and citizens accountable for creating a sustainable world order? Which of the United Nations’ SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) resonate with you and what can be done to achieve them?
